We present you with a Local English tour guide to Lama Temple, a famous lamasery located in the northeastern part of the old city of Beijing. It used to be the living quarters for Qing Emperor Yongzheng when he was a prince. A quiet complex deeply embedded with Confucian symbolism, it is the second largest temple dedicated to Confucius, a great philosopher and educationalist of ancient China. Its neighbour to the west is Beijing Imperial Academy (Guozijian), which was the highest institute of learning in Imperial China.
