Sarawak is situated on the north-western coast of Borneo . The state has rich rainforests, rivers and diverse lifestyles. Kuching, Sarawaks capital, is a riverside town in the west side of the state and is located on the banks of the Sarawak River . The town has beautiful parks and gardens, elegant buildings, colourful markets and a bustling waterfront. There are Christian Churches , Chinese temples and a state Mosque. The Sarawak Museum , located in Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, is one of Asia s finest. The Damai Beach is Sarawak s main beach resort area. Pristine sandy beaches by the South China Sea are Damais main draw, but there are also fine jungle trails all the way to Mt. Santubong for hikers to explore. There are numerous bars, pubs and karaoke lounges located across the capital city. Sarawak also has many modern shopping centres.
